Policy Analysis in Government- Some Observations

Some Observations Rushikeah M Maru R S Ganapathy To understand the extent and nature of internal policy analysis in public organisations, the authors conducted an exploratory study of policy analysis mechanisms in the three Central government ministries of health and family welfare, agriculture and science and technology. A series of unstructured interviews were conducted with officials in these three ministries to understand the organisation of policy analysis within the ministries, and to identify major issues for further research. What is presented in this note is a set of preliminary observations for discussion.
