M H Bala Subrahmanya This paper recapitulates the origin of the policy of reservation of particular product lines exclusively for small-scale industries and examines the evolution and performance of the policy with a view to answering the question whether there is a case for continuing the reservation policy within the current policy framework of economic reforms.
