The utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the domain of music composition and production is progressively gaining traction, thereby eliciting significant inquiries regarding this technology’s involvement in musical innovation and the ownership of the resultant music. However, it also presents obstacles with regard to copyright and intellectual property rights. The conflicting aspects of originality and proprietorship within the framework of music produced by AI are explored here.

The rapid advancement of AI technology has given rise to a plethora of complex inquiries pertaining to copyright and the entitlements of creators. It can be asserted that the music industry is apprehensive about this realm of novel predicaments. The death of music, as it is classically understood, has
been declared prematurely on multiple occasions. In fact, we can say that an apocalyptic apprehension was experienced in the music industry by the
introduction of the cassette tape, digital synthesisers, Napster, Auto-Tune, and various streaming services. Now is the turn of AI.
