Nostalgia, Belonging, and Healing
Thinking of Him tells interlinked tales of distress, oscillating between the past and the present.
Cinema
As a Bengali residing in Delhi, I gave in to the promise of a slice of home through the film Thinking of Him (2018), ending up with tickets for its screening. It was the week of Rabindra Jayanti, the 161st birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, when I watched the film at a near-empty hall in Delhi—the city of dust and smoke, as my hometown Kolkata got drenched in rain. The experience predictably carried a whiff of nostalgia, but it also expanded my sense of belongingness through the philosophy of Tagore.
