Dipankar Chakroborty
Dipankar Chakroborty, the founder-editor of the independent left Bangla journal Aneek, passed away on 27 January. He was 71.
Always active in people’s movements, Dipankar Chakroborty performed a pioneering role in civil rights movement as well. As editor of Aneek, Dipankar Chakroborty played an important role in educating generations of activists. At the same time, the Bangla monthly, under his editorship, raised important political and cultural issues for debate.
