From 50 Years Ago: Emergency: Democratic Style
In and Around Lok Sabha from Volume XV, Nos 4, 5 & 6, February 1963.
On November 14, all parties in the Lok Sabha supported the Prime Minister in a pledge “to drive out the aggressor from the sacred soil of India, however long and hard the struggle may be”.
Later when the delegations of Ceylon, UAR and Ghana led by Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike came to Delhi with the Colombo proposals, the Prime Minister said that no reply could be given till Parliament had been consulted.
