Telangana Simmers
This is with reference to the editorial “Telangana Simmers” (EPW, 13 October 2012).
The editorial is absolutely right in saying that the support for a separate state is near universal, not only in the region but in the whole state. Contrary to perceived opinion the people of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema are positive about having two states, viz, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. But for the political leaders and businessmen it is a different matter. A bunch of coastal Andhra businessmen who have units in Hyderabad are worried about their business for no reason.
