Understanding Gender Equality in the Software Industry of Kerala through the Capability Approach

An analysis of the issue of gender equality in the information technology industry in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram using the framework of Amartya Sen's capability approach indicates that the development of the information technology sector in Kerala is bringing about a gradual gendering of engineering education in the state as well as of software employment. However a deeper analysis reveals a clear process of exclusion in career progression.
