Now that a common European currency, the Euro, has come into circulation, almost all attention has been concentrated on how effective it will be in replacing the currencies of the countries which have agreed to join the Euro club. Of course, the European Central Bank (ECB), which is to regulate the issue of the common currency, will have a major task to perform, a task which was being done by the central banks of 22 countries. So in sheer size the job will be enormous.
