Budget and Pensioners

The central budget has been commended by most of the industrialists and politicians. But for common retirees, especially pensionless citizens, this is a detrimental budget. Most senior citizens depend on the interest on their deposits in post offices, banks, and dividends from the UTI and companies since the time of retirement. Even if they are able to work, they cannot get employment, the cost of living is increasing and income decreasing at an alarming rate.

Unfortunately, Sinha does not seem to have considered the problems of pensionless persons who depend only on interest. This has made citizens think that BJP led government, which boasts of looking after the welfare of common citizens is only a show, as it hits household savings, and retirees. Instead of penalising the common citizens, the following which helps most of the retired persons could have been easily adopted.
