COLGATE-PALMOLIVE Bouncing Back Colgate-Palmolive ( India), the 60 years plus household name in India in dental care, has bounced back with vigour to notch up Rs 1,121 crore sales income in the year to March 2000 by breaking the hoodoo of stagnancy in sales at around Rs 950 crore average during the past four years. The US multinational Colgate- Palmolive has a 51 per cent stake in its Indian arm. The resurgence of the company was spurred by a hefty adspend that accounted for 17.3 per cent of sales income, up from 10.8 per cent in the year to March 1997. Colgate will focus on oral care and Palmolive on personal care products following global practice.
