SIEMENS Cautious Optimism Siemens (India), a 51 per cent subsidiary of Siemens AG of Germany, turns out electrical equipment for telecom, transport and power sectors. It had a torrid time in the last two years. It was torn between a restructuring battle and a long spell of recession. Yet Siemens was able to turn around with a profit of Rs 28 crore in the year to September 30,1999 from a loss of Rs 56 crore in the previous year.
