This book contains articles presented in an international seminar on ‘Bangladesh Agriculture in the 21st Century’, held in Dhaka in 1995 sponsored by World Bank. The authors include academicians, bureaucrats and technocrats.
The book comprises two parts, one dealing with agricultural issues and perspectives, and the other about the future of agriculture. It is a well researched document on agricultural development in Bangladesh. It begins with an analysis of agricultural development strategy in Bangladesh. It then develops detailed assessment of policies and related aspects in seven chronologically sequenced chapters. The following six chapters, in part two, study key aspects for the future.
