Or does it indicate the growing hold of structures and technologies of control in defining the very meaning of choice? And if this is so. what can be done to alter the situation ? These issues are addressed through a study of one particular development, the spread of sex determination technologies and the evolution of state policy towards it. The focus is on the essentially victimising content of these technologies as well as state policy.
