Intercraft INTERCRAFT is an established company engaged in manufacturing, exporting, retailing and trading of readymade gar- ments, having pioneered the introduction of genuine indigo denim jeans. It is one of the major exporters of ready made garments and enjoys the status of 'Export House'. Its export turnover has increased from Rs 129 lakh in 1985-80 to about Rs 1,644 lakh in 1991-92. The company established a new international marketing division in January 1992 to export merchandise and services. This division had effected exports of Rs 109 lakh till September 30,1992. In order to meet its own needs and part of the needs of the industry as well to export, intercraft has promoted Stickwell Fashions to manufacture polyester woven labels with an installed capacity of 30 million pieces per annum at Noida. The quality of Stickwell labels would be superior to other manufacturers of polyester woven laetsin the country. The company has facilities at Bangalore for manufacture of 1,200 pieces per day of readymade garments. It has one of the biggest in-house sampling facilities supported by prominent designers from India and abroad and is backed by an R and D division to cater to the export and domestic jnarkets. The company is now expanding its network, of Intershoppe chain shops by addi ng new shops at Bangalore, Bhopal, Calcutta, Hyderabad and Madras which will provide wider geographical spread and deeper market penetration. The textile and clothing industry is the single largest net foreign exchange earner in the country. The domestic market is also poised for a phenomenal growth.
