The total funds of LIC as per the general balance-sheet amounted to crorc a year ago. The liabilities represented

The assets could be broadly classified under four groups: net fixed assets which represented house property and furniture and office equipment net of depreciation Rs 268.18 crore, receivables which included sundry debtors Rs 330.32 crore, cash and bank balances Rs 677.65 crore and miscellaneous current assets which included outstanding premiums Rs 1,485.73 crore and investments which covered loans granted by LIC as also investments in corporate and other securities
