Bangladesh Season of Change

THE events that led up to the ouster of H M Ershad as president suggest that it will be a while yet before a stable political formation emerges in Bangladesh. The next few months, when the country comes under the interim presidentship of chief justice Shahabuddin Ahmed, the unani-mous nominee of all three political alliances, is likely to witness new developments by way of changes in the equations between the various centres of power.
