Communism, Nationalism and Tribal Question in Tripura

This paper examines the development of the communist movement in Tripura during 1938-48 and seeks to ex- plain the developments in terms of the nationalities question and tribal nationalism and to highlight the problems of communist identification with regional nationalism(s).
