Export Processing Zones in China Buji: A Case Study Sun Yonghong Since the end of the second world war, developing nations in the Asian region have employed various strategies to speed up their industrialisation and modernisation process. One more which has achieved varying degrees of success is the establishment of export processing zones (EPZs). By offering a suitable package of investment incentives to both foreign and domestic entrepreneurs for the setting up of export manufacturing plants within certain defined areas, it is hoped that overseas capital and technology can be attracted to accelerate economic growth and to promote exports.
