Structural Adjustment Policies and Agricultural Growth in Africa

Agricultural Growth in Africa Simon Commander An increasing number of African governments are implementing adjustment programmes, often in association with major multilateral financing institutions. Such adjustment programmes are primarily concerned with balance of payments disequilibria. Characteristically, the measures proposed to remedy such imbalances involve policy shifts with respect both to trade and exchange regimes and also with regard to domestic pricing and investment policies.
