Cancellation of E P Thompson's Visit to India WE write to protest against the treatment meted out by the British Council to the distinguished British historian, E P Thompson. A recent invitation extended to him to visit India on a twoor three-week long lecture tour has been summarily and rudely withdrawn by the British Council on the curious ground of a suddenly discovered shortage of funds.
