MONEY stock M, registered a small expansion of Rs 69 crore or 0.2 per cent in January 1984 against a size-able contraction of Rs 1,556 crore or 9 per cent in January 1983. While currency expanded by Rs 375 crore, demand deposits fell by Rs 371 crore. In the corresponding month a year ago, while currency had expanded by Rs 176 crore, demand deposits had
