IN the report on the biennial seminar of the Indian Association for Research in National Income and Wealth at Pune (January 17), it has been mentioned that a paper by K M Parekh on "Structure of Gujarat Economy'' was criticised by Narottam Shah on the following counts: (1) estimates of State Income by state statistical authorities are subject to errors; (2) Gujarat has a very high growth rate in crops like long-staple cotton and oilseeds and since the prices of these crops are rising, estimates at constant prices do not reflect the trends; (3) remittances should be taken into account.
