Industry-Unfounded Optimism

for 1980-81 describes the industrial policy statement of July 1980 as a major landmark which aims at optimum utilisation of installed capacity and expansion of industries as part of a wider strategy for industrial revival. It then goes on to claim that "recent trends in industrial production and prices are promising and could provide the foundations for a speedy and sustained development of the industrial sector". The report, however, is reluctant to commit itself on the actual rate of growth in 1980-81.
