Cement-Change of Hands
THE Minister of Industry disclosed recently that the government would soon announce a list of industries in which foreign collaboration would not be permitted. The list, in the government's view, will be a vital aspect of the government's policy towards import of foreign capital and technology. Spokesmen of potential foreign investors in this country-, such as Orville Freeman of the Indo-US Joint Business Council, have also been asking that the government "clarify" its policy towards foreign capital by indicating where such capital would not be allowed. The presumption is that once this is done, in industries which do not figure in this list foreign capital and technology will be freely allowed.
