ANDHRA PRADESH-Landlord-Police Attacks on Peasants-Fact-Finding Committee s Report
ANDHRA PRADESH Landlord-Police Attacks on Peasants Fact-Finding Committee's Report THE Andhra Pradesh government has recently sought, through officially-inspired reports in the newspapers, to give publicity to the alleged stepping up of their activities by so-called Naxalites in Karimnagar district in the state. These reports are only a smokescreen to cover up the operations launched by the state police in close collaboration with the landlords in different parts of Karimnagar to suppress attempts to organise small peasants and agricultural workers. The Raithu Coolie Sanghams and their activists have been the special targets of attack by the police and the landlords. For this purpose police camps have been set up in a number of villages. The police repression has been most intense in Sircilla taluka of Karimnagar district.
