WEST BENGAL Tight-Rope Walking ONE of the highlights of the first few weeks of the Left Front administration in West Bengal is the beginning of a purposeful dialogue between the new leadership and Calcutta-s business community. The lead, it can be said, has been taken by both sides. The leftist parties, especially the Communist Party of India (Marxist), have been keen to spread the message that they do not want a repetition of what happened during the two earlier United Front regimes. The businessmen in turn want to make it clear that they do not care for the colour of the government as long as it means, and seeks, business.
