IT is always refreshing to read Amartya Sen. This recent book, which is originally a study prepared for the ILO, aims at discussing an approach towards "technological choice as a pert of employment policy in developing countries". In the end, however, it largely turns out to be lively tour de force of various issues related to employment, something that could not perhaps have been avoided given the task.
