After all, it would not have been possible to deal with the middle class frenzy that was aroused in the Andhra districts were it not for the fact that the CPI, in particular, was able not only to hold back but also to bring into action the agricultural labourers and the industrial transport workers. Indeed, this was one of the heavily silvered linings of an otherwise dreadfully black-clouded sky. It is true, of course, that in crisis situations it is easier to achieve such mobilisation. But then is not Andhra's waiting also a crisis?
