Growth of Tax Revenue in Pakistan

P C Verma Taxation in Pakistan has not been very effective in mopping up national income. The buoyancy of taxation in relation to national income has been greater than unity but the base from which it took off was small Taxes on commodities have been the most buoyant. Income and corporation tax have changed little while land revenue has become even less effective.
