The Editors' Blog: A Reintroduction

The Economic and Political Weekly’s presence on the web has been undergoing many changes. In 2017, we introduced a section called Engage that sought to reimagine the possibilities offered by the digital for ideas, concepts, and research. Through Engage, design is used as a tool and a method to encapsulate the complexity of academic content, as well as to make it more accessible. In 2017, we also launched the translation project, with EPW editorials being translated into seven Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu.

In our efforts to further strengthen EPW’s digital initiatives, we are re-launching our blogs section. From March 2019, in this section, we will be writing regularly on issues of contemporary relevance and public interest. These blogs could be existential musings, debates from our animated editorial meetings, starting points of longer conversations that culminate in articles, or modes of expression that the current journal format does not allow for, such as poetry or photo essays. The idea behind this feature is to establish a connection between us, and you, the friends of EPW.
