Photocopying, kunjis and the public University

Be it in the ban on photocopying or in the manner learning the humanities has been reduced to reading “guidebooks” – the stakeholders in Delhi University face challenges in their effort to reclaim the university space as one for furnishing a critical citizen and a critical knowledge base funded by public money. 

Archive and Access

The Archive and Access project aims to set up a consortium of archives and libraries in India with signifi cant historical collections through a joint online catalogue. We hope that this will be an important and useful resource for scholars and students.

A Time to Publish

This article discusses two sets of pamphlets that appeared towards the end of the 19th century in colonial Goa, in an attempt to show how precedents and norms established by European print were not exactly reproduced in the colony. The function of print and the genre of pamphlets, in particular, were altered by class difference, caste hierarchies and the context in which rural and urban politics functioned in Goa.
