I write this letter apropos your editorial “The Responsibility for Iraq” (EPW, 28 June 2014). The present Iraqi crisis – more suitably designated as the west Asian crisis – is largely an outcome of the old divide and rule policy of colonialism, which is now being tactically executed by the US.
