Community Financing for Primary Health Care-Report of a Study

Health Care Report of a Study A Dyal Chand Community financing has been generally regarded as at best a partial solution to the problem of funding health care activities, and there has been little research on its impact on community participation or utilisation of health services. The Comprehensive Health and Development Project, Pachod has been experimenting with a number of ways of raising finances for health care from the community since 1977. It has found that not only does the community assert its own priorities in financing services, but this then leads to a more rapid dissemination of health awareness, an increase in the motivation of community health workers and increased utilisation of preventive services.
