Uncontrolled wildfires result in the depletion and exhaustion of natural forests, with permanent loss of biodiversity, soil fertility and sustainable forest-based production. No effort should be spared in modernising fire prevention and firefighting measures, including educating the public on the long-term impact of forest fires.
